If you want to keep accessing the latest features, security patches and performance improvements, you must always keep your Samsung TV up to date. Interestingly, the process of updating your Samsung TV softwareIs very straightforward. Let’s guide you through the process.

How to Update Your Samsung TV Over Wi-Fi

Updating your Samsung TV via Wi-Fi is the simplest and most convenient method. Follow these steps to ensure your TV is running the latest software:

1. Connect Your TV to a Reliable Wi-Fi Network

Navigate to the Settings menu on your remote. Select General > Network > Open Network Settings > Wireless. Choose your Wi-Fi network, enter the password, and confirm the connection.

1. Press the Menu or Home button on your remote to access the Smart Hub

Go to Settings, then select Support.

2. Scroll over to All Settings and select it.

3. Scroll down to Support

4. Select Software Update

5. Under Software Update click on Update Now

6. Your device will begin searching for Update

7. Once an update is found, follow the on screen instruction to download and install the update.

Important Tips During the Update Process

  • Do not turn off your TV during the update, as this could cause software issues or even brick your device.
  • Ensure stable internet connectivity throughout the process
  • Once the update is complete, your TV will restart automatically.

How to Enable Automatic Updates on Your Samsung TV

1. Turn on your TV and press the Home button on your remote to open the main menu.

2. Navigate to Settings > Support.

If you don’t see this option, consult your TV’s user manual or online resources for model-specific instructions.

3. Locate the Auto Update option and click it to turn it on.

Automatic updates require you to frequently have your TV connected to the internet. If you prefer manual updates, you can disable this feature by toggling Auto Update off.

4. Once enabled, your TV will periodically check online for firmware updates.

5. Updates are downloaded and installed while the TV is off (in standby mode). The update is applied when you turn the TV back on

6. Insert the USB drive into one of your TV’s USB ports.

7. Turn on your TV and navigate to Settings > All Settings Support > Software Update > Update Now. Then select Yes if prompted.

8. The TV will automatically detect the firmware file on the USB drive and begin updating.
